Bayir

The road leading to İçmeler from Marmaris that turns right at the Turunç junction passes through Bayir at the 20th kilometre, a shaded place with a spring that helps cool visitors as well as the vicinity. The beautiful landscape overlooks a valley.
There is a plane tree here that shades the site, said to be a thousand years old. Tourists dance around the tree and make a wish, which gives this place a sense of joy and a special character. Underneath the plane tree there is a coffeehouse, and in addition to tea, coffee and other beverages, you may opt for a bazlama (flatbread) cooked on an open fire and a glass of ayran (yogurt drink).
The village is known for its pine, flower, and oregano flavoured honey, and is a popular stopover especially by jeep safari tours.
