The road from Söğüt continues on for another 5 kilometres, and reaches its final point at Taşlıca. Looking down at the Sömbeki Bay, the peninsulas and islands visible from the mountainside road are simply wonderful to see. Apart from the dozen or so newly built houses, the village looks dilapidated and abandoned, but this seems not to bother anyone. The site where the water wells are located is as beautiful as a painting.

There are some ancient ruins here, such as the Temple of Apollo, where the inscriptions are still readable. There are also pyramid shaped obelisks thought to date back to the Bronze Age. A pleasant trail that passes among the ruins leads to Serçe Harbour, one of the most beautiful bays in Turkey and site of the ancient shipwreck that is now on display at the Bodrum Underwater Archaeology Museum. Don’t be surprised if you come across a pack of wild horses as you walk along the path.
