Datca

Datça is a charming county in the Muğla province situated right in the centre of the peninsula on the southern coast. It is 68 kilometres by road from Marmaris and may be reached by regular minibuses that leave from the Marmaris Municipal Bus Station.

Datça is a tourism venue renowned for its historic ruins, verdant landscape, sparkling waters, some 100 coves and beaches, water sports facilities, and mild weather. The air at Datça ranks second in the world in terms of having the highest level of oxygen, and there is always a pleasant breeze, perfumed with fragrances of pine, olive, almond and citrus trees. From days of old, the climate of the Peninsula was believed to have curative powers, and today Datça is the number one choice for people with coronary and circulatory problems, asthma, arthritis, and hypertension. Even Strabo, geographer of the ancient world, once said “God would send his beloved servant to Datça to live longer.”

There are some lovely places to stay, to eat, to swim, and to relax in Datça; there are also many places that cater to an elite clientele. Health-oriented options are also available.
