The premises are large and airy, and there are several viewing salons where the various offerings are displayed. These are not bargain basement goods but handmade, highly prized works of art, sometimes running to thousands of pounds. Some represent many years of work for somebody, usually a village woman from Anatolia.
Dalyan Carpet Weavers’ Association is open during the summer season from April till October, and hosts as many as 14 tours per day. It is a single-level building and has an entry ramp, which makes wheelchair access easy. All the staff members—as many as 36 during peak season—speak good English and can also communicate in German, French, Russian and Italian to varying degrees. Credit cards or any variety of cash is welcomed, and you will be offered some tea while you contemplate your purchase. “Quality is the best value” is their motto and we can’t disagree with that.
