Yuce Liman Restaurant
Situated right at the heart of the covered bazaar (kapalı çarşı), Liman Restaurant is just off Post Office Street and has been serving quality food to its customers in the same location since 1972.
Passing by, it looks like any ordinary restaurant in the bazaar—but look closely. You’ll notice the clean and tidy tables, and kindly, smiling staff will welcome you. While you are there, don’t forget to look at their walls full of pictures, where the owner of the restaurant is framed together with the rich and famous! Many newspaper and magazine clippings are proudly displayed as well.
But there is a mystery. While the owner is very proud of the fact that they were able to maintain their high standards and improve their menu over the years, he still wonders how his restaurant ended up in the Lonely Planet Guidebook. Which table? Which customer? Whoever he or she was, the “kalamar dolmasi” (stuffed calamari) was recommended to all their readers.
Liman Restaurant is especially known for its fish soup, calamari, shrimp casserole and freshly made mezes, or Turkish appetizers.
