Arif’in Yeri or ‘Arif’s Place’ is in the area to the back of the covered shopping area (carsi) before you get to the edge of the marina, and is definitely a place frequented by locals out shopping, workers from the marina, and some of the marina dwellers ‘in the know’.
Delicious freshly homemade dishes served up at very reasonable prices, this is not a luxurious venue but a place where you can sit outside and watch the people wandering around this old part of town, as you enjoy lovely wholesome food. Reflecting this mix, you’ll find that the staff speaks Turkish, English, German, and enough Russian to explain the menu! Arif’in Yeri is open every day from 8 AM till midnight, so you can enjoy breakfast through to your late evening snacks here. When you order your dinner they offer a selection of mezes (Turkish appetisers) free of charge, in addition to a glass of Turkish tea afterwards.
Wheelchair users can enjoy Arif’in Yeri too, but will have to be seated outside and disabled toilets are not available. Background music is limited to Turkish pop from the TV, but it just seems to work in this busy little place, where the customers all seem to smile.
