UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Turkey

World Heritage Sites are places of cultural and/or natural significance considered the common heritage of humanity. Turkey has seven cultural (Archaeological Site of Troy, City of Safranbolu, Great Mosque and Hospital of Divrigi, Hattusha: the Hittite Capital, Historic Areas of Istanbul, Mt Nemrut, and Xanthos-Letoon) and two mixed sites (Goreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia, and Hierapolis-Pamukkale) on this list, with quite a few properties submitted to UNESCO’s Tentative List; see here for details.
